In recent comments on the “Your Voice, Your Future” town hall series, Governor Moore called out sanctuary policies like the one administered by Prince George’s County as “violating federal law.”
During her first year in office, County Executive Alsobrooks announced that Prince George’s County would refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement. Under her policy, Prince George’s County has released violent criminals, sex offenders, and violent gang members who are here illegally and refused to inform federal law enforcement who have requested detainers on these violent felons.
Just last week, another violent criminal wanted overseas for homicide and arms trafficking was detained in College Park, where he has been living. Meanwhile, County Executive Alsobrooks is doubling down on her policy.
As Governor Moore said, “This isn’t about immigration or immigrants, this is about people who break the law.”
