Sheriffs Across Maryland Endorse Hogan for Maryland

Latest in a Series of Law Enforcement Endorsements for Governor Hogan

Hogan for Maryland today announced the backing of a coalition of 14 sheriffs from across the state, the latest in a series of law enforcement endorsements for Governor Hogan.

“It’s an honor to have the endorsement of these Sheriffs from every corner of our state. Our local law enforcement is faced with unprecedented challenges right now–they deserve representation in Washington who will stand up for them and work with them to protect our communities,” Governor Hogan said. “In the Senate, I will stand with our brave men and women in uniform and make sure they continue to have the resources they need to keep our Maryland families safe.”

“The last thing Harford County needs is another politician who supports reckless policies that fail to support the police and have put violent criminals back on our streets. To keep our communities safe, we need to send a leader to Washington who has a proven track record of supporting local law enforcement. I’m proud to endorse Governor Hogan as Maryland’s next United States Senator,” said Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler.

“Governor Hogan has always been a friend to law enforcement. He made it a priority to restore law and order to Maryland during very uncertain times in our nation. Governor Hogan will continue to make law and order a priority while giving unwavering support to the law enforcement community as a Senator,” said Washington County Sheriff Brian Albert.

Today’s list of endorsements include:

  1. Sheriff Bryson Meyers, Garrett County
  2. Sheriff Donald Baker, Caroline County
  3. Sheriff Dennis Hickman, Kent County
  4. Sheriff Brian Albert, Washington County
  5. Sheriff Steven Hall, St. Mary’s County
  6. Sheriff Michael Lewis, Wicomico County
  7. Sheriff Jeff Gahler, Harford County
  8. Sheriff Joseph Gamble, Talbot County
  9. Sheriff Jim DeWees, Carroll County
  10. Sheriff James Phillips Jr., Dorchester County
  11. Sheriff Ronald Howard, Somerset County
  12. Sheriff Matt Crisafulli, Worcester County
  13. Sheriff Gary Hofmann, Queen Anne’s County
  14. Sheriff Scott Adams, Cecil County

This is the latest in a series of law enforcement endorsements for Governor Hogan, who earlier this week received the support of the Maryland Troopers Association.

In addition, Governor Hogan has received the endorsement of the International Union of Police Associations and the State Law Enforcement Officers Labor Alliance (SLEOLA), which represents a wide array of Maryland law enforcement labor organizations—including the the Maryland State Police, the Natural Resources Police, Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Maryland Capitol Police, the Maryland Department of Health Police, the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Police, the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services Intelligence & Investigative Division and the Warrant Apprehension Unit, the Motor Vehicle Administration Police, and the Comptroller’s Office Field Enforcement Agents.
