As part of the Strong Independent Leadership Tour, Governor Hogan and the Hogan for Maryland team visited the Cecil County Fair, Harford County Farm Fair, and Carroll County County 4-H & FFA Fair today.
“Maryland’s agricultural heritage is an incredibly important part of our state’s economy and culture,” Governor Hogan said. “It was great being able to celebrate that today with so many of our farmers, local families, fairgoers, and especially our 4-H and FFA students. Maryland’s future is bright with this next generation of ag leaders at the helm.”
Cecil County Fair. Governor Hogan started the day at the Cecil County Fair in Elkton, where he had the chance to talk to farmers, fairgoers, and 4-H’ers.
While at the Cecil County Fair, Governor Hogan met up with Talia, a young 4-H’er from Cecil County who invited him to the showing of her sheep “Lil Wayne.” This is Talia’s first year showing market lambs and second year showing breeding sheep.
Harford County Farm Fair. Governor Hogan headed over to the Harford County Farm Fair in Bel Air, where he met fairgoers and more ag students. Governor Hogan also checked out the Hot Dog Pig Races.
Carroll County County 4-H & FFA Fair. The Hogan for Maryland team closed out the day by visiting the Carroll County County 4-H & FFA Fair in Westminster, where Governor Hogan got to see these incredible programs in action.
While in Carroll County, Governor Hogan spoke to residents about the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project. Earlier this week, Governor Hogan published an opinion piece in both The Baltimore Sun and Carroll County Times expressing his opposition to the project. Read the full piece here.
