The Maryland Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the largest law enforcement organization in the state representing over 20,000 active and retired officers, has unanimously endorsed Governor Larry Hogan for the United States Senate. They held a joint press conference at Baltimore City FOP Lodge 3 today to make the announcement.
“There’s a lot at stake in this election, and for law enforcement, this choice is clear—Governor Hogan has always had our backs. We’re proud to have his,” Maryland FOP President Clyde Boatwright said. “Governor Hogan has a record of standing up for the rule of law, never putting politics before public safety and always doing what’s right over what’s politically expedient. We know he’ll be the same, common sense leader in Washington that he was in Annapolis. We look forward to seeing all he will accomplish in the Senate.”
“Nothing makes me prouder than to have the unanimous endorsement of the Maryland Fraternal Order of Police and the 20,000 active and retired officers that they represent,” Governor Hogan said. “As governor, I made it a key point every single day to thank every officer that I came across and I continue to do so every day because I want them to know how much their service and their dedication means to me. In the Senate, my top priority will be making sure Maryland’s law enforcement family has the support they need to keep our communities safe.”
