The Hogan for Maryland campaign today announced the official endorsement of the International Union of Police Associations.
The International Union of Police Associations is the only union chartered exclusively for law enforcement and law enforcement support personnel, working to improve legislation that protects and affects public safety officers, as well as represents the needs of law enforcement officers and support personnel.
“These are challenging times for the American Police Officer,” International Union of Police Associations President Sam A. Cabral said. “We need voices like Governor Hogan’s in Washington, D.C. to advocate for our members so they can face their challenges and serve and protect their communities.”
“I’m so honored to receive the endorsement of the International Union of Police Associations. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the brave law enforcement officers who protect our communities every day, and I’ll always have their back,” Governor Hogan said. “I’m proud to be the pro-law enforcement candidate in this race.”
On Wednesday, Hogan for Maryland announced the endorsement of the the State Law Enforcement Officers Labor Alliance, which represents a wide array of Maryland law enforcement labor organizations, including the Maryland State Police, the Natural Resources Police, Office of the State Fire Marshal and more.
This week, Governor Hogan unveiled a 10-point plan to address violent crime–including steps to deal with violent offenders, back law enforcement, and support victims.
Governor Hogan recently announced his Strong Independent Leadership Tour, which will include meetings with law enforcement organizations and discussions about violent crime. In the last week, Governor Hogan has met with Prince George’s County FOP, the Anne Arundel County FOP, and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.
