International Longshoremen’s Association Local 333 Endorses Governor Hogan For United States Senate

Hogan for Maryland today announced the official endorsement of International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) Local 333, which represents more than 2,000 maritime workers at the Port of Baltimore. All told, the Port supports 15,330 direct jobs and 139,180 jobs connected to work at the Port.

This is the first union endorsement announced by Governor Hogan since last week’s primary election.

Statement from Scott Cowan, President, ILA Local 333 & Vice President, International Longshoremen’s Association: “We’re proud to endorse Governor Larry Hogan in his campaign to be Maryland’s next U.S. Senator—no one has done more to grow the business at the port, which helps create family-sustaining ILA jobs than Governor Hogan. From delivering on infrastructure improvements to job creation, he has earned the support of the longshoremen community. Now more than ever, as we work to rebuild the key bridge, strengthen the port and recover from catastrophe, we need to elect a proven leader to fight for us in the U.S. Senate. That man is Governor Hogan.”

Statement from Governor Larry Hogan: “Receiving the endorsement of ILA Local 333 means a great deal to me as we build a grassroots movement to represent all of Maryland. The longshoremen know that I always had their backs as governor, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in the Senate. I’m committed to working alongside them not only to ensure full recovery from the collapse of the Key Bridge, but to continue to advance generational investments in our infrastructure.”

Governor Hogan met with the leaders of ILA Local 333 last month to discuss critical needs and priorities following the collapse of the Key Bridge, and was invited to take part in their Bridge of Support Family Fun Day on Sunday.
