Maryland’s Republican Primary is scheduled for May 14, and I can’t wait to cast my vote for Gov. Larry Hogan to serve as Maryland’s next U.S. senator.
As governor, Larry Hogan helped workers and employers in Western Maryland by removing college degree requirements for thousands of jobs, rewarding skills and hard work. This was a first-in-the-nation program that cut red tape and lifted burdensome regulations to help Garrett Countians and other Marylanders.
Gov. Hogan also implemented conservative tax reforms and led Maryland through a significant economic turnaround — even with a Democrat majority in the General Assembly. Gov. Hogan cut taxes eight straight years and left Maryland with a record government surplus. Not two years since he’s been gone, the state is once again hundreds of millions of dollars in debt, and the Assembly is considering saddling us with new taxes.
We need Gov. Hogan in the Senate fighting for fiscal responsibility, instead of another Democrat voting to raise taxes.
Maybe most importantly, Gov. Hogan is electable. He’s already won twice, only the second Republican governor to be reelected in Maryland’s history. He’s the right choice and the realistic one. But he can’t win this fight alone. He needs our help.
Now, Garrett County has a chance to be a part of something special. We have the opportunity to send Gov. Hogan to the Senate. That starts with voting for Gov. Hogan in the Republican Primary on May 14, and I hope you’ll join me.
