Hogan for Maryland issued the following statement from campaign spokesperson Blake Kernen in response to a new ad from Angela Alsobrooks:
“At every turn, Angela Alsobrooks has underfunded and underprioritized public safety in Prince George’s County. On her watch, violent crime has surged and murders have nearly doubled, the police department’s budget was cut and it is now short 300 officers, while her sanctuary policy allows gang members, violent criminals, and sex offenders back out onto the streets.
“Governor Hogan is proud to be endorsed by law enforcement officials across the state. While Angela Alsobrooks was defunding the police and speaking out against cops, he was re-funding the police and backing the blue. In the Senate, Governor Hogan will work to bring both parties together to support law enforcement and make our communities safer.”
