Hogan for Maryland Announces Second Co-Chair for Democrats for Hogan

Hogan for Maryland today announced its second co-chair for the “Democrats for Hogan” coalition with a video message from Rona Kramer, former Secretary of the Maryland Department of Aging and former Democratic State Senator from Montgomery County.

“For the eight years that I served in the Hogan cabinet, there was no discussion about party politics. It was glorious. We worked together in that cabinet. We had Democrats and we had Republicans, and what we worked on and what we cared about was getting the job done for Marylanders,” Rona Kramer said. “We have the opportunity now to bring that kind of unity to Washington D.C. It is extremely important. Those opportunities don’t come very often. We need to look at the individual and the character, not just the party affiliation. This is not a time to equivocate, this is the time to support the best candidate for United States Senate that is Larry Hogan. As a Democrat, I ask all my fellow democrats to please support Larry Hogan.”

“Rona did an outstanding job leading the Department of Aging, and I am excited to have her as our second co-chair of Democrats for Hogan,” Governor Hogan said. “Marylanders know me and they know my proven track record of reaching across the aisle to find common ground for the common good. In the Senate, I will continue to be the same strong independent leader for Maryland that I always have been. To my Democratic and Independent friends, if you want a strong, independent leader who will stand-up and fight to clean up the mess in Washington—then join our cause.”

The morning after Governor Hogan’s primary election victory, Hogan for Maryland formally announced its “Democrats for Hogan” coalition with a video message from the coalition’s first co-chair, former Democratic State Senator Bobby Zirkin.

Governor Hogan is a proven bipartisan and independent leader who works across the aisle for Maryland. For eight years, the Governor delivered bipartisan results working with Democratic majorities in the General Assembly. Nationally, he has worked to facilitate bipartisan negotiation in the U.S. Congress—for example, Democratic leaders across the country said Governor Hogan was instrumental in passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
