Governor Hogan today joined local officials and community members at a remembrance walk in honor of Rachel Morin to mark one year since her murder. The walk was held at Harford County’s Ma & Pa Trail.
“Today was a moving tribute to Rachel’s memory, and also to the strength and resilience of her family. Their courage in the face of such unfathomable pain is truly humbling,” Governor Hogan said. “Rachel’s spirit lives on in our hearts, and her family will always have the love and support of this entire community. Thank you to all those who joined us today.”
In June, after county officials announced an arrest in the case, Governor Hogan said: “Our thoughts are with Rachel Morin’s children and her entire family as they continue to grapple with this unfathomable loss. We should all be grateful to law enforcement for finding and arresting this murderer, who was here illegally. This should be yet another wake-up call to stop letting politics get in the way of public safety and act to make sure violent criminals do not come into our country and are taken off our streets.”
