Governor Hogan Statement on Proposed Budget Cuts to Police and Law Enforcement Grants

Hogan for Maryland released the following statement from Governor Hogan regarding the state’s proposed cuts to police and law enforcement grants:

“At a time when violent crime is skyrocketing in places like Prince George’s County, cutting funding for law enforcement is reckless and inexcusable. Our brave men and women in uniform put their lives on the line every day to keep Marylanders safe and they deserve our unwavering support.

“As governor, I was proud to enact landmark Re-Fund The Police legislation to increase funding for law enforcement. In the Senate, I will lead the fight to increase funding for law enforcement. With Prince George’s law enforcement already underfunded and understaffed, I urge County Executive Alsobrooks to join me in rejecting these proposed cuts.”
