Governor Hogan Meets with Prince George’s County Fraternal Order of Police

As National Police Week continues, Governor Hogan today met with members of the Prince George’s County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 89 to thank them for their service to the community.

“This National Police Week and every week, we are proud to recognize the brave men and women who selflessly place themselves in harm’s way to keep our communities safe—I will always be proud to back the blue,” Governor Hogan said. “With rising crime all over the country, there’s never been a more dangerous time to be an officer, or a more important time to support law enforcement.”

In response to the Defund the Police movement, Governor Hogan enacted the Refund the Police Initiative, a $500 million investment to increase support for police departments, victim protection services, and crime prevention across the state.
