After a successful primary election and the launch of “Democrats for Hogan,” Hogan for Maryland today released a video “Democrats for Hogan?” The video highlights what some of Maryland’s Democratic leaders, as well as national Democratic figures, have said about Governor Hogan’s bipartisan legacy of delivering for Maryland before he became a candidate for Senate.
“I applaud the Governor for being so early and full-throated about the danger of this MAGA movement. I applaud the Governor for calling this out early for what it is,” Maryland Governor Wes Moore said. “…And I’m thankful that the Governor has come out and very early said he will not support the Republican nominee, despite that being the nominee of his party.”
“We have had a really wonderful working relationship with the Governor, with his administration, I have to tell you that.” County Executive Angela Alsobrooks said. “He really wants to work with Prince George’s, he’s from there.”
“As I listen to the Governor of Maryland today on the television…he’s doing a heck of a job,” President Joe Biden said.
“He’s got a very friendly demeanor, he’s a businessman, he wants to work across the aisle, and that resonates.” Congressman David Trone said. “People like that–you’ve got a can-do attitude, let’s get stuff done.”
“I’ve known him for years and I like him,” President Bill Clinton said.
“Governor Hogan put country over party,” U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen said.
Governor Hogan is a proven bipartisan and independent leader who works across the aisle for Maryland. For eight years, the Governor delivered bipartisan results working with Democratic majorities in the General Assembly. Nationally, he has worked to facilitate bipartisan negotiation in U.S. Congress—for example, Democratic leaders across the country said Governor Hogan was instrumental in passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.
