Hogan For Maryland Makes Several Stops in Hagerstown and Cumberland to Kick Off Homestretch Bus Tour

Highlights Support for First Responders, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Main Street Businesses Across Western Maryland

Hogan for Maryland today kicked off the Country Over Party, People Over Politics Tour in Western Maryland with stops in Washington and Allegany Counties.

“We’re proud to kick off our Country Over Party, People Over Politics tour in Western Maryland, where our administration focused every day on lifting up communities that too often felt forgotten,” Governor Hogan said. “From supporting our first responders and law enforcement to making historic investments in downtown revitalizations and Main Street businesses, it is all about putting Marylanders first. I’m running for the Senate because I’m committed to putting country over party and people over politics, and I’m asking voters to join me and do the same.”

Washington County Fraternal Order of Police. Hogan for Maryland began the day in Hagerstown meeting with members of the Washington County Fraternal Order of Police and law enforcement officers at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. At a press conference earlier this month, the Maryland Fraternal Order of Police—the largest law enforcement organization in the state representing over 20,000 active and retired officers—unanimously endorsed Governor Hogan for Senate.

Boys & Girls Club of Washington County. Next, Governor Hogan and his wife, Yumi, headed to downtown Hargerston to the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County to celebrate its brand new facility in the heart of downtown Hagerstown with a beam signing ceremony. The Hogan administration committed $2 million to the project as part of an initiative to expand Boys and Girls Clubs across the state.

Ristorante Ottaviani. Governor Hogan met with local elected officials and leaders from the downtown Cumberland business community for lunch at Ristorante Ottaviani to hear about the city’s ongoing economic development projects.

Downtown Cumberland. Following lunch at Ristorante Ottaviani, Governor Hogan went on a walking tour of downtown Cumberland and visited small businesses—including The Rosenbaum, D’atri Subs etc., The McMullen Building, Madison Paige Boutique, Ferleman Gallery, Centre Street Collective, Myla and Maple, Dave Caporale’s Bakery, and Curtis’ Coney Island Famous Weiners. The Hogan administration was proud to make historic investments in capital projects in Main Street communities across the state.

Allegany County Emergency Services IAFF Local 1715. To conclude the first day of the ‘Country Over Party, People Over Politics Tour’, Hogan for Maryland visited the Flintstone Volunteer Fire Company to meet with members of the Allegany County Emergency Services IAFF Local 1715, which officially endorsed Governor Hogan last week.

Hogan for Maryland continues the ‘Country Over Party, People Over Politics Tour’ this weekend with more stops in Western Maryland, Baltimore City, and Montgomery County.
