At a press conference today, Hogan for Maryland announced the endorsement of the Montgomery County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 35, adding to the overwhelming support Governor Hogan has received from law enforcement leaders and organizations across the state.
“I’m so thankful to have the endorsement of the Montgomery County FOP. This is far more important to me than just any other political endorsement–for eight years as governor, I saw how our law enforcement heroes selflessly put themselves in harm’s way so that our community can be a better, and a safer place,” Governor Hogan said. “Now more than ever, our men and women in uniform deserve to know where their elected leaders stand–I’ll always stand with them.”
“We know that public safety, especially violent crime, and Maryland economic relief are some of the top priorities for Montgomery County residents and Marylanders across the state. We need a Senator who will pay serious attention to these matters, in addition to supporting the brave men and women in law enforcement,” President of FOP Lodge 35 Lee Holland said. “As governor, when others were defunding the police, Larry Hogan refunded the police. He has always been a strong supporter and friend of law enforcement. We know Governor Hogan will continue to fight for Maryland and will provide the resources necessary to keep Montgomery County and all Maryland residents safe.”
Governor Hogan has made public safety a centerpiece of his campaign, advancing a 10-point plan to deal with violent offenders, back law enforcement, and support victims.
