Ahead of the Senate vote on the bipartisan “Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024,” Hogan for Maryland released the following statement from Governor Hogan:
“The entire reason why I ran for governor was to fight for hard-working Maryland families and small business owners who were struggling to get by. The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act takes important steps to do just that. In the face of crushing inflation and a cost of living crisis, expanding the Child Tax Credit and giving working families a break is critical. That’s why this is a core part of my five-point affordability plan.
“It is absurd that this bipartisan legislation is destined to fail because of election-year partisan politics. Enough is enough. I am running because it’s going to take strong independent leadership to put aside this nonsense and deliver relief for Marylanders.”
NOTE: Governor Hogan has advanced a five-point plan to make life more affordable for Maryland families–including providing tax relief for small businesses, working families, retirees, and first responders.
