Hogan For Maryland released the following statement from Governor Hogan on the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization:
“On the day of the Dobbs decision, I reaffirmed my commitment to uphold Maryland law protecting access to abortion. That is the promise I kept during my eight years as governor. I was also proud to make Maryland the first state in America to provide over-the-counter birth control covered by insurance. In the Senate, I will work in a bipartisan way to codify Roe v. Wade as the law of the land.
“A woman’s health care decisions are her own. Whether it be the decision to start a family with the help of IVF, or exercise her reproductive rights, nothing and no one—especially partisan politics—should come between a woman and her doctor. In Washington, I’ll protect Maryland women from extreme voices who seek to undermine their autonomy—just as I did for eight years as governor.”
