Hogan for Maryland today celebrated Juneteenth at the Annapolis Juneteenth Festival, where Governor Hogan met with families and enjoyed the tradition, music and shopping from local vendors.
“It was great to attend today’s Juneteenth Festival and join in the celebration with so many families, and all the vendors and volunteers,” Governor Hogan said. “As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said—‘the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.’ Juneteenth reminds us to continue striving for that more perfect union and freedom and justice for all.”
Governor Hogan is proud to be the first Maryland governor to recognize Juneteenth and sign legislation making it an official state holiday.
