The Hogan for Maryland campaign today unveiled a 10-point plan to address violent crime–including steps to deal with violent offenders, back law enforcement, and support victims.
“We can no longer allow politics to get in the way of public safety,” Governor Hogan said. “There are bipartisan common sense solutions that the federal government can urgently adopt that will make a difference and save lives. In the Senate, I will make it a top priority to bring people in both parties together to get this done, support our law enforcement, and make our communities safer.”
The release of the plan, which Governor Hogan first discussed this morning on WBAL’s C4 and Bryan Nehman Show, comes amid a series of meetings and discussions with law enforcement organizations–including the Prince George’s County FOP, the Anne Arundel County FOP, and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.
The plan, which can be viewed here, includes ten sets of goals and initiatives:
1. Take Repeat Violent Criminals Off The Streets
