“It was great being in Prince George’s County this morning with retired federal employees to share my vision with them and thank them for their service to our state. I was proud to work for Maryland’s retirees as Governor and deliver historic results, including our Retirement Tax Elimination Act—a much deserved break for seniors for the first time in decades. In the Senate, I’ll work to deliver tax relief to make life more affordable for retirees in our state, and will continue to fight proposed medicare advantage cuts threatening Maryland seniors,” Governor Hogan said.
In 2022, Governor Hogan finally negotiated the passage of his Retirement Tax Elimination Act, allowing Maryland seniors to keep more of the retirement benefits they’ve earned.
