Hogan for Maryland today released a new digital ad highlighting Angela Alsobrooks’s record of misleading voters about skyrocketing murders and violent crime on her watch. The ad comes after Alsobrooks, appearing on MSNBC, claimed that crime is not rising in Prince George’s County.

“Angela Alsobrooks continues to mislead voters about skyrocketing murders and violent crime on her watch as Prince George’s County Executive,” Hogan for Maryland spokesperson Blake Kernen said. “Marylanders deserve a leader who will level with them about the problems they face, but Angela Alsobrooks continues to prove she is just another partisan politician who refuses to take accountability for her failures.”
While crime is declining nationally, on Angela Alsobrooks’s watch as County Executive, murders have nearly doubled, violent crime has increased over 30%, and carjackings have increased well over 500%.

During The Height Of The Defund The Police Movement, County Executive Alsobrooks Stripped $20 Million Set Aside For A New Police Training Facility And Redirected It Towards A Public Health Center. “Prince George’s County officials plan to forgo expanding a police training facility and will instead fund a $20 million public health facility, County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks said Tuesday. Alsobrooks said the new facility will treat mental health and addiction. The health facility would be built using money originally in the county police department’s budget for a new public safety training facility.” … “The new facility is part of Alsobrooks’s vow to dedicate resources to mental health.
