As part of Hogan for Maryland’s Strong Independent Leadership Tour, Governor Hogan visited Leisure World of Maryland in Silver Spring to speak with residents about his campaign to bring strong independent leadership to the Senate and answer questions about the policy priorities he will fight for in Washington.
This week, Governor Hogan announced his five key commitments to Maryland voters that will guide his policy priorities and legislative agenda in the United States Senate. Read the list of five commitments here.

“Our campaign’s message of strong, independent leadership appeals to Marylanders of all walks of life because they know neither Republicans or Democrats can count on my vote—only Maryland can,” Governor Hogan said. “In Washington, I will be that key independent swing vote to bring people together on both sides of the aisle and to finally start to get bipartisan common sense solutions on the important issues that Marylanders face every day.”
Throughout the Strong Independent Leadership Tour, Governor Hogan has been traveling across the state and announcing policy plans and priorities. Earlier this summer, Governor Hogan released his retiree affordability initiative, which includes the following priorities:
- Protect Social Security and Medicare
- End Inflation Tax Hikes
- Stop Medicare Advantage Cuts
- Lower Prescription Drug Prices
- Repeal SALT Cap Tax Hike
