FACT CHECK: Maryland Democratic Candidates for Governor Distort Governor Hogan's Record of Accomplishments

Tonight’s Democratic primary debate is missing many things, but most prominently it missed accurate information about Governor Hogan’s strong record of accomplishments for Marylanders.

See below for the real facts about the governor’s record:

CLAIM: KRISH VIGNARAJAH: “My overarching goal is to realize in Maryland it’s incredibly difficult to run businesses. Under Governor Hogan, Maryland hasn’t been open for business, it’s been open for businesses leaving.”

CLAIM: RUSHERN BAKER: “Ms. Vignarajah is absolutely right; this governor has been not open for business but for businesses leaving.”

CLAIM: RUSHERN BAKER: “The children that were freezing in those classrooms are Maryland children, just like the ones that are overcrowded in classrooms in Prince George’s County, or in Montgomery County, or in Baltimore County. And for the last four years we have gone to the governor and asked him to be a partner with the local jurisdictions to solve this problem, he’s been silent, he wouldn’t even meet on it.”
