Governor Hogan Discusses Accomplishments and How Leadership Success Over Last Eight Years In Maryland Show Better Path Forward For Nation

In Governor Hogan’s final weeks in office, he has discussed with local and regional media outlets his concerns about the current state of politics and how his successes in Maryland have shown how to bring people together to deliver common sense results.

Here’s what they’re saying as Governor Hogan prepares to leave office this week:

Fox 45 News: ‘We have come a long way together’: Maryland Gov. Hogan says farewell speech

The Daily Record: Hogan: Remember me as a ‘regular guy who gave it his all’

The Baltimore Banner: “‘Serving you has been the honor of a lifetime,’ Hogan said in a video address, filmed in the State House’s Old Senate Chamber. ‘Together, we truly have changed Maryland for the better.’”

47 ABC: “I inherited a $5 billion deficit and turned it into a $5 billion surplus,’ Governor Hogan said. ‘We have more businesses open and more people working than ever in the history of the state. We cut taxes eight years in a row by $4.7 billion, we cut tolls, taxes and fees, and the economy is completely turned around.”

WJZ: “Hogan, a Republican who considers himself a moderate conservative, touted his administration’s accomplishments, credited residents for sticking together through great and challenging times.”

WUSA: “He ended his speech with a plea for Americans to come together and not be so divided by their politics.”

Maryland Matters: “As he has in the past, Hogan expressed concern over the tone of the political discourse at the national level, but said Maryland ‘achieved the impossible’ when its Republican governor and a legislature dominated by Democrats figured out a way to co-exist.”
