Governor Hogan Meets With American Cancer Society Action Network Volunteers

Governor Hogan today joined a roundtable discussion with cancer survivors and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network volunteers to thank them for their efforts and discuss their legislative priorities.

“American Cancer Society Action Network is an incredible organization, it was an honor to share my story and hear more about their priorities today.” Governor Hogan said. “Cancer has touched nearly every one of us through family or friends. On the day I found out I was cancer-free, I pledged that for as long as I am governor and long after, I will stand with all of those who are fighting this terrible disease, and support every family touched by cancer. That’s exactly what I’ll continue to do in the U.S. Senate.”

Governor Hogan was proud to launch the Maryland Cancer Moonshot Initiative, investing $216 million to accelerate Maryland’s efforts to detect, prevent, treat, and find a cure for all cancer in order to save more lives. The Maryland Cancer Moonshot Initiative funded the construction and completion of the University of Maryland Capital Region’s Center for Advanced Medicine in Prince George’s County.
