Hogan For Maryland today announced its latest union endorsement, the Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association (M.E.B.A.), the nation’s oldest maritime labor union representing officers of the United States Merchant Marines. This is the sixth union endorsement Governor Hogan has announced since the May 14 primary.
“We’re proud to endorse Governor Larry Hogan in his candidacy for the United States Senate. In the face of unprecedented global threats facing our nation, the Senate needs leaders like Governor Hogan who will prioritize the U.S. merchant marine and help bring back the state of Maryland to the forefront of the maritime industry. In the aftermath of the tragic bridge collapse in Baltimore, we look forward to working with a pragmatic, results-driven leader like Governor Hogan who will champion all American workers and the US maritime industry,” said Adam Vokac, President, Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association.
“I’m honored to receive the support of the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association. The maritime community and culture is a key facet of life here in Maryland and at the Port of Baltimore. Nationwide, Merchant Marines play a critical role in our economy, our global competitiveness, and our national security–issues that I’ll be focusing on as Maryland’s next United States Senator,” Governor Hogan said.
